Faculty Positions

1. Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

Electrical and Computer Engineering: The University of Texas - Pan American invites applications for a faculty position in electrical or computer engineering at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level. Applicants in any specialization area are welcome. Candidates for Professor may be considered for an endowed chair. Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in electrical engineering or computer engineering, potential for excellence in teaching and research, and a willingness and ability to support departmental and institutional goals. Preferred qualifications include prior evidence of successful teaching and a demonstrated record of research productivity. Applicants for Associate Professor or Professor should have significant academic or industry experience after the doctorate degree and established records in publication and funded research.

Applications must include (1) a cover letter specifically stating the level applied for (assistant, associate, or full professor), (2) a detailed resume, (3) names and contact information of at least three references, (4) a statement of research interests, and (5) a statement of teaching interests. 2. Assistant Professor - Renewable Energy

Electrical Engineering: The University of Texas - Pan American invites applications for a faculty position in electrical engineering at the assistant professor level. A specialization in renewable/alternative energy or closely related field is strongly preferred. Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in electrical engineering or computer engineering and a willingness and ability to support departmental and institutional goals. Preferred qualifications include significant power industry experience, a demonstrated ability to teach a broad range of topics, and a prior record of funded research.

Applications must include (1) a cover letter specifically stating that the application is for "Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering - Renewable Energy", (2) a detailed resume, (3) names and contact information of at least three references, (4) a statement of research interests, and (5) a statement of teaching interests. Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant Positions

A number of graduate research and teaching assistant positions are available each semester. For international students, these positions may also include a reduction in tuition to the Texas resident rate.

Notice: As of September 10, 2008, we filled all TA positions for the Fall 2008 semester. Applications for Spring 2009 should be submitted by November 1, 2008 for full consideration. Please note that preference will be given to continuing TAs with satisfactory performance; therefore, the number of new positions for Spring 2009 is very limited.

Current students interested in a research assistant (RA) position should directly contact faculty in their area of technical interest.
