UTPA Students Win at IEEE R5 Conference
UTPA's two student teams won First and Second place in the IEEE Region 5 Robotics Competition held April 21, 2007 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They were competing against a field of 22 teams from 7 states, including Texas teams from UT-Austin, UT-Arlington, Univ. of Houston, Texas Tech, and Lamar University, as well as teams from Arkansas, South Dakota, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

First Place Team: Aaron Smith, Carlos Carrizales, and Heribierto Villalobos
Second Place Team: Carlos Quiroz, Gil Mendoza, and Marco Puente
